Importance of This Season

As we have seen with Cleveland sports, the Indians and Cavs have both failed to win championships and would be time to see one arise and have seen pure disappointment. The Cleveland Browns were very aggressive in the off-season working on the defense. This coming season will see what will be a very critical moment as they are set to face the Dallas Cowboys.
Now, the Browns lead the all-time series 15-10 including a 9-3 mark at Cleveland Browns stadium, which gives them an advantage but this is a different team. For Dallas, you have Tony Romo, whom has become Dallas's best Quarterback since Troy Aikman and for the Browns you got Derek Anderson.
In the off-season as many Browns can recall, there was talk about would Derek Anderson stay with the Browns or go to another team. I had personally hoped he would stay considering this team hasn't had stability in the Quarterback position. Since the team has come back in 1999, there have been different starters like in no particular order, Tim Couch, Ty Detmer, Kelly Holcomb, Trent Dilfer, Jeff Garcia, Charlie Frye, and most recently Derek Anderson. Had they not resigned him, Brady Quinn may have gotten the spot and basically thrown into the fire without being prepared. The last thing the Browns need would be another bust ala Tim Couch.
Derek Anderson has something to prove to some critics clamoring for Brady to take the spot as the starter but I do believe he can get this done. If they do well and make the playoffs, then perhaps it would be silence them but I do not expect a Super Bowl appearance by the Browns. The reason being is that the road is going to be tough and difficult with teams like the Colts and the Patriots being the primary teams.
This game is important because it could dictate how this team does when the pressure is on. The schedule is going to be tough but then again you never really know how a team does until you see it for yourself. On paper, the Browns look strong and may be a contender to win the AFC North. Results wise, we shall see. I hope they do well but don't set your expectations too high because if you do, it will fall into pure disappointment.
