New York Giants and New York Jets

This is going to sound a bit random but am I the only one who thinks those two aren't really New York teams? If they had played in the state of New York, that would be one thing but because of where they are located, they should be considered New Jersey teams. The only New York team that does exist is Buffalo at this moment with the Buffalo Bills.
Now I know it seems rather useless but this is something I've been wondering about. How you can call them New York teams when they play in New Jersey? Is it that embarrassing to be labeled as that? Why would it be? This makes no sense. That's like the Arizona Cardinals playing in Nevada and still being called the Arizona Cardinals. It just baffles my mind.
This isn't to take away what they've done and that's all I needed to say on that. If you're going to be a New York, at least play there that is all I have to say.
Onto predictions, it seems that right now the Giants and Jets are not expected to win their divisions or even make it to the Super Bowl. First, I'm going to look at the Jets themselves and then get to the Giants.
The Jets acquired Favre after playing around with his little game or retire/unretire from the Packers for a conditional 4th Round pick that could increase depending on the teams performance. As far as the AFC East goes, it is very unlikely that the Patriots will be knocked out and not win the division. A Wild Card may be likely but don't put too much stock into it. The competition is going to be stiff with the Broncos, Jaguars, Browns or Steelers from the AFC North, and maybe even a dark horse candidate. The Jets are really in a bind.
The Giants may have it easier but have some lost some starters. It's going to be a test to see what this team is truly made of. They don't have Strahan, whom has decided to stay retired and not be like Favre. Shockey left though they didn't need him to win the Super Bowl, and have some lost some starters. I think they can be a Wild Card team but it's a tough call in that respect.
