Drew Brees is going to be on the cover of Madden. Now, this does not bode well for him because there has been the legendary Madden Curse that has been in place. New Orleans is coming off a Super Bowl season and he gets put on the cover. Why is that a bad thing to be on the cover? Well, if you recall the history of players that get on the cover, it doesn't bode well for them.

The players probably don't believe in that but it can be seen. Those that have been on there have not had the seasons they had envisioned or worse yet out of the year. It is not something that can be easily explained but does get some notoriety due to the fact that it cannot be a good thing.

The Saints are going to be favorites to win the Super Bowl and are the defending champions. For their sake, it best not have problems in regards to the Madden Curse having a negative affect on the team. Is it possible they are going to repeat? It's hard to say until the regular season begins.

For Brees, he's going to have to stay healthy and avoid the injury bug that can happen or worse his performance declines.

I'm taking a break right now from it as there really isn't much NFL activity in regards to games. Perhaps after the draft, I could have a better perspective on it. If anyone would want to apply, then by all means do so. It'd help keep it active.

After the entire season, there are some final thoughts overall when it comes to the season and the post-season. Without question, there have been some upsets but it's time for some team awards. This will be my last blog post for a few months. I'll wait for the next season.

Upset of the Year: Cleveland Browns defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers. Who would have imagined that one happening?

Team of the Year: New Orleans Saints. They were marching and took care of business.

Most Surprising Team: Cincinnati Bengals. They went on to take the division by force and had a 6-0 mark against everyone in the division.

Most Disappointing Team: Denver Broncos. This is a team that should have been a playoff team but fell apart big time.

Best Playoff Team: New Orleans Saints. They won the Super Bowl so they were the best that season.

Worst Playoff Team: San Diego Chargers. How do you win 11 in a row only to look foolish against the Jets in the playoffs?

Does the Colts lost put them in a category with the Atlanta Braves in MLB: In a way, it does because they make the playoffs consistently and only have one Super Bowl to show for it much like the Braves when it came to the post-season only having one World Series title to show for it.

Only time will tell what will be the next season. Yet another NFL season has been completed.
