NFL Playoff Preview – Divisional Round
The following is a preview of games played in the Divisional round of the NFL playoffs
Seattle Seahawks (11-5) at Atlanta Falcons (13-3)
The Falcons ended their great season on the downturn, losing 2 of their last 5. The Seahawks joined the ranks of the Broncos and Redskins among the hottest teams to close out the season. Seattle has been playing every week, keeping the momentum. The Falcons have had a break to prepare for the Seahawks, but in some ways, their offense is still evolving. You can guarantee Pete Carroll and his staff will have some new wrinkles for Atlanta and will give them all they can handle. Expect a close game.
Houston Texans (12-4) at New England Patriots (12-4)
Manning’s down, Rodgers is down and Brees never got to the playoff party. We’ll see if Tom Brady can burst past these playoff newcomer quarterbacks and show NFL fans that the old powers are still valid in an quickly changing league. Matt Schaub got his first playoff win last weekend and has been waiting a long time over many excellent seasons with the Texans to show he belongs in the conversation about the best QBs in the league. Arian Foster, Andre Johnson and J.J. Watt definitely have been watching and realize that anyone can beat anyone in the playoffs. Whoever wants it more will advance.
