Everyone pretty much knows what the Philadelphia Eagles need to get to the next level. Everyone except the Eagles it seems. What they need is a number 1 wide receiver. They made an move to try and bring in Randy Moss in the off season. But they let him slip away. They made a nice offer to him, but not one that would make him leave a great franchise such as the New England Patriots. If you ask me they could have made one a little bit better then that. But clearly they believed that their main need was at the Corner Back position. Thats why they did not let Asante Samuel leave their facility with out getting a deal done when he came to visit. It is a very good pick up, but it also creates a lot of controversy in the defensive secondary. Lito Sheppard believes he should be a number 1 or 2 corner back and be on the field every down. And not many people can disagree with that. Besides being injury plagued, he is an out standing athlete. There was a lot of trade offers that the Eagles listened to but none of them really jumped out at them. They don't plan on giving him up cheap and the teams that want him don't plan on giving up a whole lot to get him. The draft has came and went with out a Sheppard trade, so odds are he will stay with the organization. Which I believe will make that secondary very hard to coach given that they now have 3 superstar corners. But if they do get it clicking, in my mind it will be the best secondary in the entire league. All i can say is, good luck Jim Johnson.
