Thoughts on the Browns
October 31st 2008 00:48
The Cleveland Browns have had to overcome obstacles to win games. Think of what happened when the pressure really went on Anderson and he responded by seeing Cleveland Browns victories. The Browns have a good defense and will need to showcase it even further by knocking out the Ravens to push them to .500 and then they'll need to do so to beat the Broncos if they wish to have a chance at being above .500 this year. Currently, they are 3-4 but do not look past either team on this one.
As far as the only way they can make the post-season, it has to be somehow overtaking the Steelers and that isn't going to be an easy task. The Wild Card may be out of reach but given what is going on at this moment with the AFC, it wouldn't be impossible to see it happen.
The Ravens beat the Browns so it's going to be a look for payback and despite the recent success, there is still some pressure on Derek Anderson to get the job done as the starter. I would like to see a stable Quarterback that can get the job done because since this franchise came to be for the 1999-2000 season, there have been more Quarterback changes than you can count. If it means he fails and it goes to Brady Quinn, then so be it but do something about the Quarterback position.
As I reference in a post on another blog about the Browns needing to use the win for the next two games, it is a fact. If you wish to see it Click Here.
Let us continue to hope that all issues have been taken care of and this team can win. I would like to see this team have some success, is that too much to ask? I'm hoping to see them 5-4 but I recognize it will not be easy.
